MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – September 13, 2013  – Couchbase, a leader in NoSQL database technology and the company behind the Couchbase open source project, today unveiled its breakthrough mobile strategy, JSON Anywhere, the first and only NoSQL offering specifically designed to meet the data management needs of the booming mobile application market.  Couchbase also announced three new products associated with its strategy; Couchbase Lite, Couchbase Sync Gateway, and Couchbase Cloud™.  The company will announce its mobile strategy and new products at Couchbase [SF], its annual user conference.

The Couchbase JSON Anywhere strategy is targeted at mobile application developers that want to create highly responsive, data-centric applications that are always-available regardless of network connectivity. JSON Anywhere means: JSON on the device, JSON on the wire, and JSON in the cloud. Data stored in Couchbase Lite on a mobile device is seamlessly synchronized with the Couchbase Server in the cloud, enabling the simple development of a new class of occasionally connected, data intensive mobile applications.
