Hello,
I just discovered that cbbackup is deprecated in couchbase 6.6, while cbbackupmgr is an enterprise-only feature. Does this mean that there is no way to backup couchbase community edition?

Hello foobar123
Thanks for using Couchbase Server !
Don’t worry, our community edition users will continue to have a backup tool available. In Couchbase Server 6.6, cbbackup is deprecated but not yet removed. The great news is, starting in version 7.0.0 , cbbackupmgr will be available to community edition users as the primary method to backup a cluster.
From our 7.0.0 Beta Docs
Note that from version 7.0,
cbbackupmgr
is also available in Community Edition, but without support for merge, cloud backup, or collection-level restore.
The change was tracked in our JIRA as MB-40055
Feel free to give our 7.0.0 Beta a try today and provide any feedback.
Thanks,
Ian McCloy (Principal Product Manager, Couchbase)
Thank you, that’s great! I’ll give 7.0 a try in the next days
@ianmccloy is there an estimate on when couchbase 7.0.0 final is going to be released? We are going to release an application in two months and would consider upgrading before release if we knew that 7.0.0 final is going to be ready soon
