Cbexport dump size is huge

Hi Team,

We are having a bucket with the size of around 200GB. We tried to take the dump using cbexport and it is taking too much time (more than 2 hrs) and size is more than 700GB of that dump and its running still. Can you please let us know why this behavior.

We can certainly try help with that, I’ll start with a couple of questions:

  1. What type of machine are you running cbexport on?
  2. Where are you exporting from/to?
    a. Are you exporting from within the cluster?
    b. Are you exporting to a local disk, or to a network filesystem?
  3. How many threads are you using (-t/--threads)?
  4. What version are you exporting from?
  5. What version of cbexport is being used?
  6. Please could you provide logs for the export using --verbose --log-file output.log?
  7. What compression settings do you have on your bucket e.g. active, passive?

size is more than 700GB

This may to be expected since data must be inflated by cbexport before it’s written to disk.
