Hi,
are there any plans to implement the older apache-replication protocol inherited from CouchDB into the new native Couchbase Lite Core, maybe in future releases ?

That would be good. I would much prefer to be able to use a hosted service such as Cloudant, however due to the divergence regarding filtered replication, I’m now having to set up a server running Couchbase and Sync Gateway, which is probably a good move in the long run, but still it would be helpful to have support for CouchDB style filtered replication from CBL.

I don’t think it’s likely Couchbase will implement it. The old protocol is harder to implement and lower performance. But it’s something that a third party could build on top of Couchbase Lite or LiteCore.
