Couchbase node.js SDK3.2.2 crashes on upsert

After upgrading our node.js app from Couchbase 3.2.0 to 3.2.2, we started to see seg fault on every upsert call, while query calls work well. The only change made for this upgrade is in package.json for the couchbase version in dependencies:

"couchbase": "^3.2.2",

The Couchbase server version is 7.0.
The method for upsert is as the following:

Anyone has the same issue? Or is there anything we missed for upgrade? The same code works well with Couchbase node.js 3.2.0.

Hey @sunny_arthrex,

Can you provide some more information about your environment? I’ve not been able to reproduce any segfaults since we fixed the majority of the issues in 3.2.2. Specifically, at what point does your application create the connections, and then use them. Additionally, are you reusing connections or recreating them regularity. Lastly, can you rerun npm install to confirm that 3.2.2 is actually installed and that an old installation of 3.2.1 isn’t present in your node_modules?

I confirm the seg fault on 3.2.2 / node 14.16.0 on linux and mac
In our case, it seems to happen after the connection establishment.

I don’t know why but we noticed that downgrading re2 (a package for safe Regex with a C library) to a prior version 1.10.5 fixes the segmentation fault.

Is couchbase package linked to Re2 package ?

We are running the node.js SDK 3.2.2 on an EC2 instance (Debian 9). The node version is 14.
We noticed that the import order matters. We are using a lib called matescraper, for example, we can 100% recreate the crash if importing matescraper after importing couchbase 3.2.2. If we swap the order, then the crash stops happening.
