Couchbase Server and Sync Gateway Memory Usage

Hi,

I have a single node Couchbase Server set up with a single bucket and with data, indexing, querying, and backup services enabled. I’ve set all the memory quotas to the lowest allowed. I also have sync gateway setup and continuous replication with Capella app services. My memory metrics seem to indicate that both together use up around 1 GB of RAM. Is this an appropriate measurement assuming I’m working with an empty database. In other words, what is the bare minimum amount of memory that Couchbase Server and Sync Gateway need to use to work?

Thanks!

Also what is the best way for me to measure my memory usage? Currently I have a node exporter and I’m taking a look at the memory available - memory used when both Couchbase Server and Sync Gateway aren’t running versus when they are running. However, these values do tend to fluctuate. I’ve also taken a look at docker stats and it seems that the Couchbase Server itself is taking up around .9 ~ 1 GB of RAM.
