We have observed high RAM usage (around 90%) in all 9 server nodes of couchbase cluster. But RAM usage in cache bucket is around 75% and connected applications are working good. Please suggest what might be causing this issue.
Many couchbase datastructures are in memory, therefore it is expected that couchbase processes use RAM. High RAM usage is not unexpected. Here is the couchbase server documentation explaining the use of memory Memory and Storage | Couchbase Docs. The web console “Dashboard” tab also shows RAM usage.
With in a 6 months period of time we have observed this sudden jump in RAM usage. Comparatively load in the server also not increased. In the console, bucket ram usage seems good, but for cluster nodes it remains in 85 to 90%.
It’s likely that the increase is related to some change that was made during those six months. Quite possibly data added to buckets.
