Importing Sample Stuck on Capella Free Tier

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying the Capella Free Tier since yesterday.
Previously I already used the 30-day trials and it works great.
However, one thing that I can’t do is import sample data.
The bucket is being created, the Import button is still disabled and the loading icon is visible.
But no documents have been added to all collections.

Does anyone have the same issues?
Any suggestion on how could I fix this?

The travel-sample data is imported upon creation.
The Import button only becomes enabled once you select a sample to import.
Which sample data are you wanting to import?

So the new free-tier cluster only has a travel-sample bucket, scopes, and collections without any documents.

I also tried to import the color-rgb sample with the same issue the bucket, scopes, and collections were being created but no documents were inserted and after a few hours, the import button on the import page is still showing the loading icon.

I tried it just now and the travel-sample documents are there. Both under the inventory scope and the _default scope.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply.

I’ve just re-run the importing of travel-sample data, and it still does not show any document. The button is still disabled in the loading state.

FYI, I’m running Capella Free-Tier in AWS Singapore region with Couchbase version 7.6.3.

And this is the current Document state after waiting several minutes.

Ok. I have asked someone to investigate. Can you provide your organization id, project id and cluster (db) id? Thanks.

Hi @mreiche ,

This is the data you want.
Organisation ID: 6ffab38a-0877-4530-879f-0dca981969b9
Project ID: 89e08cff-e51c-41b9-98fa-ed15e65b37e0
Cluster ID: 7fcb93c0-c05e-44e7-9453-b5495d4082d6

Thank you.

Hi - I’ve been able to reproduce this on AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore) region. Someone is investigating. It does not occur on US East. Would you be able to try that region?

I tried just now again with AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore) and it worked. So you could try that again, too.

@mreiche
Thanks for your help.
I’ve been trying to import the sample data again but it is still not working.
Perhaps the Couchbase team is still investigating more scenarios.
I will wait for now and update this thread when I successfully use the import feature again.

Did you try deleting your existing cluster and creating a new cluster?
